Pledges of World Health Day

April 08, 2021 00:00:00

After around a year, since March 2020, Bangladesh has again gone into a countrywide lockdown. The number of new Covid-19 cases and deaths has been breaking all previous records every day. It is alarming for all of us. All of a sudden, we have started realising how fragile and vulnerable we are to outbreak of infectious diseases. In this reality, we observed the World Health Day on Wednesday (April 7). Now we need to resolve that we can stay safe from this invisible enemy.

Awareness comes first in preventing coronavirus. If we want to save ourselves from this infection, we must wear facemasks appropriately, follow social distancing measures and follow hand hygiene. If needed, quarantine yourself from others. For extra precautions, we can seek information and help by dialing national helpline, 333. We should not be confused over any kind of rumours. It is good to take nutritious food every day so that our immune system can work when needed. Regular physical exercise can remove our stress of spending lockdown days. If we really need to go outside, we must have to be super cautious. These habits could be our commitment to saving ourselves.
