PM\\\'s directive to book criminals
December 24, 2014 00:00:00
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the law-enforcement agencies to arrest criminals regardless of their party affiliations. In the past, similar instructions were not unfortunately complied with that has made common people sceptical about the result of such
directives.
The common people want security and safety of their lives and a congenial atmosphere to work for a better tomorrow. One must understand, criminals
cannot be friends of any party. They are
a liability that distances the party from
the people.
I shall, therefore, urge the Prime Minister to be ruthless to the party elements involved in criminal activities in defiance of her instructions and those members of law-enforcement agencies who fail to comply with her directives. We must remember the old Bangla proverb: an empty cowshed is better than a cowshed with a naughty cow.
