Population problem

Population growth is still the number one problem of our country. In 1971 Bangladesh had a population of 70 million which is now a staggering 160 million! Among the most populated countries in the world, Bangladesh ranks sixth.
Even though the country has achieved considerable success in curbing population growth, as a developing nation it has a long way to go. Growing population has been creating tremendous pressure on the existing infrastructures. The government should take the population control campaign to the next level and introduce new laws to control the birth rate. New laws should be enacted with provisions of special benefits for couple with one child and taxes imposed on each additional child. Such a system will encourage people to keep their family small.
BTV which can reach the rural masses should air special entertaining and educational programmes to make the rural people aware of the peril of having many children. The time has come to intensify our fight again population boom so that we can attain our desired success in every sphere of our life. Without controlling population boom we are certainly doomed!
