Praiseworthy directive of the High Court

The High Court (HC) has ordered the male doctors not to conduct any medical test of any rape victim. The HC has also asked the Directorate General of Health Services to issue notice to all the hospitals regarding this. It is indeed a praiseworthy directive of the HC. When a rape victim goes through medical tests by a male doctor, she is just humiliated and it is not less than a second rape.

Women of our country don't get justice easily as they usually don't want to expose their trauma to others fearing more humiliation. These medical procedures by the male doctors cause another trauma to the victim. Earlier the victims were asked to undress in front of male doctors and his assistants. We are glad that the rape victims won't be humiliated now in the name of post-rape medical test.
