President for quality education

President Abdul Hamid has asked teachers to turn every university of the country as a world class institution. He has emphasised improvement of quality of education a number of times while addressing convocation programmes recently. The head of state's call makes us optimistic about a change at a time when none of the Bangladeshi universities is in the list of top 500 reputed universities worldwide.

However, the President's advice requires follow-up from the government to improve educational atmosphere on the campus and raise funds for research and innovative activities. The authorities of universities need to undertake credible initiatives to improve teaching and learning atmosphere, as well as to create knowledge through research activities.
