Prices of gas, kerosene should not be hiked

September 26, 2014 00:00:00

It is learnt that the prices of gas, diesel and kerosene may rise further. If done so it will hit hard the common people as with the prices of the petroleum the prices of essentials will go up. Life is very tough for the middle and low income people and increased prices of these items will cause further inflation. Instead of increasing prices the government may bring transparency in those sectors and reduce corruption.

In the international market prices of oil have come down significantly. If the price of diesel goes up the transport fare will go up too. The prices of essentials will go up. Income of the common people is not increasing in line with the prices of essential goods. We hope the government will think over the matter.
