Printed circuits for aircraft engines

March 02, 2015 00:00:00

Fantastic news came from AFP and was published in a local daily. It is an awesome piece of news for the future safety of aircraft jet engines. The news reveals that conventional electric cables will be replaced by printed wiring circuits. This was already demonstrated in two prototype jet engines. One is on display at the Australian Air Show, while the other is with the French aircraft jet engine maker Microturbin in Toulouse, France.

It is possibly the most revolutionary safety development in modern aeronautic jet engine technology. Among other things, it is weight saving, compared to heavily insulation protected aircraft engine cables. In addition, it is most advantageous compared to conventional insulated copper wire cables which are now used in aircraft engines and can logically eliminate all potential threats of sparking and igniting hazard for aircrafts.
