Protecting children, women from sexual assault

Incidents of sexual abuse, involving women and children, continue to occur in the country on a daily basis. According to Ain-o-Salish Kendra, as many as 641 women were sexually assaulted till August 31 of this year. Of them, 31 were murdered after rape. Around 770 incidents of violence against children reportedly occurred during this time, of which 392 children became victims of sexual assault.

This shows that the menace of sexual abuse runs rampant across the country, warranting a concrete plan of action from the government.
