Leakage of question papers has been a serious threat to our educational system. Recently it has come into focus after the same happened in the HSC examination. Not only HSC question papers but also various competitive public examination question papers are coming out before the commencement of the examination with the help of mischievous people. A quarter of evil people are the masterminds behind the question paper leakage; but surprisingly the authority concerned is showing leniency to them. Question leakage can fetch serious consequence for society. If unqualified people assume statecraft taking benefit of the leaked question papers, it will cause disaster to the public administration.
It is heartening to see that esteemed educationist and writer Prof Jafar Iqbal has come forward to take up the issue. He along with his compatriots has been seeking help of the appropriate authority to curb the question paper leakage. They underscore that it should be stopped once for all. It has stigmatised students. If this evil practice continues, as a nation we will go backward.
The education minister and his ministry must take the matter seriously and take action against the culprits. It has to be ensured that question pilferage will not happen in future.
