Regulatory roadblocks and bureaucratic delays
June 11, 2025 00:00:00
Navigating the tangled web of bureaucracy has become a recurring challenge for businesses across Bangladesh. Entrepreneurs often face lengthy delays in securing essential approvals such as business registrations, permits, and concessions. These administrative bottlenecks can result in missed contracts, lost investments and critical market opportunities slipping away.
For example, an export-oriented firm may lose a vital international order simply because customs clearance or certification processes fail to keep pace with the demands of global trade. Such inefficiencies not only hinder business growth but also damage Bangladesh's competitiveness on the international stage.
Moreover, these regulatory hurdles discourage both local and foreign investors, who view procedural uncertainty and time loss as major risks. In a world where speed, innovation, and responsiveness determine success, Bangladesh cannot afford to fall behind due to bureaucratic inertia.
