Repairing Doyaganj road

Doyaganj is an important road for the people living in Old Dhaka. It connects Dholaikhal, Tikatuli, Dolairpar and Jatrabari. And the connecting road has become busier after the inauguration of Dhaka-Mawa expressway. However, a ride through this road is now nothing but a nightmare for commuters. Bangladesh Railway is setting up a railway bridge at Doyaganj. The construction of the bridge has completely blocked a lane of the road. And due to water-logging, the other lane has turned into a small ditch with numerous potholes. Traffic congestion on this road has become an everyday affair. A five-minute ride here can take up to half an hour.

There are two popular private hospitals adjacent to Doyaganj road. So, many patients have to travel along this road every day as all other alternatives to this road are now blocked. These patients become sicker after a bumpy rickshaw ride on this route. We urge the authorities concerned to repair the road as soon as possible.
