Responsibility of political parties
January 02, 2015 00:00:00
As a conscious citizen of the country I cannot but feel worried and alarmed when I see the workers of one party attacking the supporters of another. Not surprisingly, police remain as silent spectators. We, the common people, want to see an end to this politics of violence. Politicians should not take us for deaf or blind or illiterate. On the contrary, common people understand everything which is clearly reflected at the time of vote.
It is surprising that instead of maintaining calm, our leaders and activists are more interested to incite tension and unrest in society. They tend to forget that if anything goes wrong in the country, they will also be affected. The ruling party should also realize that it will have to bear the lion's share of the blame since it is in power.
I hope good sense will prevail in all the parties and they will learn to rein in the rowdy elements of their parties so that the common people live in peace and comfort.
