Restricting VPN use as porn-conduit

Bangladesh has banned many pornography websites, thanks to a government initiative. However, it is unfortunate that viewing pornographic sites has not yet stopped. Although most of the porn sites are blocked, anyone can access those sites with a Proxy or Virtual Private Network (VPN) installed even on their phones.

As educational institutions have been kept closed, teenagers have enough time to spend with their smartphones, tabs and laptops. Internet is now easily available. And, almost everyone seems busy visiting various sites including Facebook and YouTube. While surfing net, they come across porn sites, and become porn addicts. This addiction leads them to various forms of crimes including stalking, molestation, and rape.

In this context, the VPN that allows users to bypass the ban should immediately be blocked in Bangladesh. We urge the authorities concerned to take effective measures so that no one can access these porn sites from this country.
