Rise in kidney failure

October 23, 2014 00:00:00

The number of patients with kidney failure is increasing alarmingly. We have two kidneys in our body and every day these filter about 120 to 150 litres of blood, and produce urine composed of waste and extra fluid.

The kidneys keep composition of blood stable and prevent build-up of extra fluid and waste in our body. Those patients whose kidneys do not function have to go through dialysis which is an artificial way to filter blood.

The government must take stern action against food adulteration as it is causing kidney diseases. People should be careful about high blood pressure and diabetes as these diseases often cause kidney failure.
