Runa Laila: A living legend

Runa Laila is one of our most popular singers whose popularity has transcended the boundaries of the country and created millions of fans in other countries beside India and Pakistan. Recently a musical evening was held in honour of this artist on her 50th year in the music industry. She has been an evergreen diva in the sub-continental music. Runa stole the rapt attention of the audience and they were dancing and singing with her.

History of Bangladeshi music will be incomplete without the name of Runa. I am a big fan of hers and hardly miss an opportunity to listen to her live. With her mesmerizing voice she enthralls her audience and brings them on their feet. Her voice touches our soul. Runa Laila is the music icon of Bangladesh and we are very proud to have her in our country. She has sung in Hindi movies also and is equally popular in India. Actually a true artist has no border, no boundary or limits. He or she is universal.  I have been hearing her melodious voice since my childhood and she is still peerless in her singing style and melody. I hope she will continue singing like this and enchant music lovers around the world.
