Rural students must improve their English

English is one of the most important and widely spoken languages in the world and undoubtedly it has great importance in our practical life. The standard of English in rural areas is very much disappointing and we cannot blame students for their incompetence in this language. Rural students, like the students of cities, attempt to learn this language during ten years of school life but most of them achieve little success. There is a dearth of good English teachers in rural areas.

So, when students from villages or small towns come to the big cities, they feel their lacking in English. Different organisations have been working on this problem and taking steps so that the rural students of our country can learn English properly. The demand for quality education, a pre-requisite for our socio-economic development, has steadily been increasing in the present world. I hope the government will invest for this purpose and encourage private organisations to extend their helps so that the existing quality gap between the rural and the city education reduces. We cannot expect prosperity leaving our village people behind and deprived of quality education.
