Safe food a matter of right

Food adulteration has been rampant in Dhaka city. The situation elsewhere in the country is not different and may be worse in some cases. We sometimes witnessed officials and law enforcers carrying out drives against food outlets that make and sell adulterated foods. Such actions neither continued nor contributed to progress in the situation.

Since Dhaka is a vibrant city, people buy varieties of food items and working people are bound to eat outside. However, many people are scared of eating outside.

In that context, people need to be aware of quality foods and hygiene so that they can differentiate between healthy and unhealthy foods. If they boycott adulterated foods, the sellers would be compelled to change their behaviour. Social leaders and guardians should make children and commoners aware of safe foods for bringing a change in food culture in the country.
