The name of actor Salman Shah brings sadness to many cine-goers in Bangladesh. The prematurely dead popular actor was one of the most admired artistes in the Bangladshi movies in the late 80s and the early 90s. His glamorous presence used to ensure a movie's success at the box office.
Salman Shah apparently had no parallel. In his short career, he appeared in 27 movies. Most of his movies were well received by the audience. The hero became a matinee idol in the Bangladeshi cinema.
Salman Shah met his tragic death on 6th September, 1996. It was too early for him to say goodbye to this world. Many of Salman's fans became hysterical after his sudden death. A number of them took their own lives on hearing the shocking news.
