NEW YORK, July 29 (AFP): French President Nicolas Sarkozy's pop star wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy would like to have children with her new husband, she said in an interview with a US magazine released Monday.
"I'd love to have children with Nicolas. I hope to, if I am young enough. It would be a dream," Bruni told Vanity Fair.
But the 40-year-old former model is not ready to try out fertility programmes to make it happen, according to the magazine.
"If it comes, I'd be the happiest person in the world, but if it doesn't come, I'm not going to tempt the Devil," she said.
"If life doesn't give me another child, well, it has given me so much already."
She said she had to warn Sarkozy about numerous nude photos taken during her days as a top model -- but he was unconcerned.
"I took him and said, 'OK, now I need to show you, because I posed in the nude ... you must know that this is going to come out.' He said, 'Oh, I like this one! Can I have a print of it?'"
Bruni also said she views the late Jackie Onassis, wife of slain US president John F. Kennedy, as a more suitable role model for her than the more conservative wife of former French president Charles de Gaulle.
