Many Myanmar Rohingya and Bangladeshi refugees were stranded in the sea bordering Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesian as they went there by trawlers to seek fortunes. This they did illegally. A section of human traffickers influenced the local impoverished people to change their lots abroad in exchange for money managed at the expense of their last precious possessions. The syndicates have long been involved in this criminal business.
The latest news is that the refugees were not given access to the coastline counties and they have been leading an inhuman life as there are no food, drinking water. Many people perished in the sea as they protested the brokers’ ill motives. The government of those countries refused to give shelter to the deserted people on humanitarian grounds. Even the Myanmar government refused to take back their citizens, Rohingyas. International organisations on refugees have shown their disappointment at the attitude of the governments. They have urged the governments to help them and give shelter to them on humanitarian grounds. The Myanmar government has for long been subjecting the Rohingyas to repression and for this reason they are homeless in their homeland.
The UN, human rights groups and international organisations for refugees should come forward to save stranded and dying people and immediately provide food and shelter for them.
