Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina in an international conference in Dhaka recently stressed on saving the tigers. She rightly pointed out that tigers save the Sunderbans and the Sunderbans saves Bangladesh. In New York, the prime minister also attended an international climate change conference very recently.
Rampal power plant, very near to the Sunderbans, is going to be constructed very soon. Environmentalists fear this will destroy our tigers and the unique mangrove of the Sunderbans. We urge the government to save the tigers and the Sunderbans by abandoning the Rampal power plant project.
