Due to our modern hectic life we do not get time for physical work-outs and as a result, many of us suffer from various health complications. Traffic jam everyday takes away a big chunk of our time and at the end of the day when we return home, we are too exhausted to do anything other than watching television and being a couch potato. A sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activities can cause a lot of health problems, like, diabetes, depression, obesity, back pain and high blood pressure etc.
Those who live in urban areas need to be aware about the health hazards of living a sedentary life. We should include some physical activities like walking, cycling, jogging and playing outdoor games etc. We should also encourage our children to be physically more active so that when they grow up they too remain safe from a sedentary lifestyle. Lack of exercise is a global problem and we must address it with due importance. Lack of physical activity is as bad as smoking. We found it in a recent study. Many of us work in offices and we hardly move out from our table. Sitting a long time can greatly hamper our health. It is high time we understand this and take up physical activities for a better and healthier life.
