Senseless people

Very recently I encountered an awkward situation in the street. Our car was approaching towards the stadium where there was heavy traffic congestion. Our car halted due to the jam. We noticed that some fire fighting vehicles frantically tried to approach ahead to response an emergency call but could not move ahead. The traffic police on duty tried their best to make way for the fire fighting vehicles but no way. The vehicles plying in that side of the road did not bother to make way for the fire fighting engines for quick response to save the life and properties of people.
On another day I saw buses did not care for giving sides to an ambulance carrying an ailing patient. The ambulance was honking to have passage to go hurriedly to the hospital. It seems that we are being selfish and do not care for other's distress. We love to listen Bhupen Hazarika "man is for man, life is for life" but do not care to follow that in our practical life.
