SKorea confirms new foot-and-mouth outbreak

SEOUL, Apr 17: South Korea confirmed on Sunday new case of foot-and-mouth disease five days after it declared the end of the worst-ever outbreak that cost some $2.6 billion from last November to March. The agriculture ministry said six pigs at a farm in the southeastern city of Yeongcheon were infected and ordered the slaughter of the animals and emergency sanitisation measures around the area. -AFP
