Sparing job-seeker attestation tyranny

December 14, 2023 00:00:00

Attestation of academic certificates and testimonials is a prerequisite for receiving an array of services including admission to educational institutions, job application process and obtaining license, among others. This seems to be an additional burden for many of us as we have to waste hours in getting our certificates and photographs attested. Job aspirants have to attend a number of examinations every year. They are the worst sufferers of this attestation requirement. In some cases, we have to face harassment while completing attestation procedures from first-class gazetted officers as most of the officers normally do not agree to attest our documents without pre-familiarity. In this situation, some people resort to fraudulent activities by making fake seals and attesting themselves with fake signatures, even though all their documents are genuine.

The ministry of public administration has taken a good decision that job seekers would no longer be required to get documents attested for government jobs. The same thing should be followed by private organisations and others to simplify the process of recruitment and admission. This will hopefully relieve us from unwanted embarrassment.
