Spending money on occasions

Recently we have observed so many international days. Unfortunately, we don't care for water crisis, quite alarming in Dhaka, leading to mass diarrhoea and similar other water-borne diseases. We have spent millions of Takas in the name of National anthem, National flag show, decoration of Dhaka on the occasion of T-20 World Cup etc. Definitely a portion could be spent on water supply in Dhaka or in Sidor, Aila or Nargis-affected areas in southern Bangladesh. Dhaka footpaths have been occupied by piles of garbage, makeshift shops and street vendors. The WB, ADB, JICA and EU give loans and grants but we don't try to make Dhaka liveable.
