State-arranged visit by foreign journalists

The government arranged a visit for ten foreign journalists to Bangladesh on the eve of Pahela Baishakh in order to show them the success of Bangladesh. The journalists are from the US, the UK, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt and Myanmar. It is a good effort to improve our image abroad. Bangladesh was always in the limelight of the international media for the last one and a half years for all the wrong reasons.

Foreigners still think negatively about our country. We cannot blame them as we failed to uphold our positive sides. It is our collective failure. More such initiatives should be taken by the government to dispel bad image of our country abroad. Finally the government has realised that we need broad cooperation from our development partners and we cannot simply overlook their pragmatic suggestions.
