Stop business of unsafe blood

In old Dhaka, recently, a mobile court has jailed three persons, including the owner of a blood bank on charge of selling blood without proper investigation. The condition of the blood bank was also very dirty and unhygienic. There are many such blood banks flaunting the rules and regulation and engaged in such immoral trade. They are cheating common people when they come to collect blood for their near and dear ones.

Patients taking substandard or contaminated blood from them may suffer from serious health hazards. Even a patient can die taking unsafe blood. A section of unscrupulous doctors and hospital stuff are also engaged in this kind of activities. There is s misconception about donating blood in our society. Common people think that if they donate blood, they will be physically weak. It is a totally false notion.

Blood donation is a noble work and we should regularly donate blood and encourage others for the same. If we can collect adequate blood on voluntary basis, we can stop this unsafe blood business. We hope the law enforcing agency will take stern action against the gangs cheating common people and putting their life at risk.
