Strong actions against rapists needed

AN incident of rape is not new in this country or for that matter anywhere in the world. But the severity of the phenomenon in our country calls for stern action against the offenders. Most victims happen to be students and garment workers (female). Girls coming from villages work in garment factories to earn money to support their family economically. Some of them have to stay late at times in their work places. And it is mostly in late hours of the night they fall victims to rape at the hands of the criminals. The concerned law enforcing agencies should step up their vigilance for protection of these innocent and hard-working women. There are others from different professions who are entrapped by individual rapists or rapists in groups. They include adolescent school girls being lured by their fake lovers who ultimately turn out to be cruel rapists. It is really a matter of great regret for us. I would like to request our concerned authorities to award exemplary punishment for the rapists so that incidents of rape are discouraged.
