BEIJING, June 9 (AFP): A strong aftershock was felt at China's "quake lake" in southwest Sichuan Monday, state media reported. The aftershock struck the swollen Tangjiashan quake lake just after 11:00 am (0300 GMT) Monday, Xinhua news agency reported, quoting one of its reporters at the scene.
But a local official contacted by AFP said he had not felt any tremor.
"I did not feel the aftershock, perhaps it was too small for me to feel it," Hu Peng, a press officer for Mianyang city government, who is based at the lake, told AFP.
Xinhua reported that the magnitude of the aftershock was not immediately known, and its impact on the dam was under surveillance.
