At a time when many young people are chasing jobs, a group of brave youths is choosing a different path. Many dream of having their own organisation to plan and build independently.
Currently, the younger generation is making this dream a reality through agro-farming. On the strength of initiative, hard work, and innovative thinking, they are not only succeeding but also opening the door to new possibilities in the country's agricultural sector.
The youth are turning to agro-farming mainly because of the desire to do something for themselves, to escape job uncertainty, and to gain the opportunity to work independently.
This seems realistic to them, as they can start with relatively little capital and have the opportunity to grow gradually. Many are finding success quickly because of the potential for good income using modern methods. In addition, the ease of access to technology has made it easier for beginners to learn.
The opportunity to work from the village, stay close to family and contribute to the country's agricultural sector is also encouraging young people to enter
this field.
A senior from my campus, whom I know, returned to his village after completing his studies to fulfil his dream of starting a poultry farm, and he has been working on this venture under "NSU Startup Next".
Today, he is a successful entrepreneur. His farm has not only met local demand for eggs but also created employment opportunities.
As a consequence, the number of agro-based enterprises has increased in recent years. Urban educated youth are now highly interested in organic farming, dairy farming, and fisheries.
Overall, agro-farming is no longer just farming; it is becoming a respectable and promising career option for the younger generation.
