Sufferings of patients

Freedom fighter Alfaz Uddin failed to get admission at any of six hospitals he visited in the capital. Either doctors were not available or reluctant to attending him and machines were out of order as reports say. As he was believed to be Covid-19 patient, Alfaz Uddin was denied treatment and died at last.

In Shibganj, Bogura, a woman tried to hire an ambulance for her husband who was suffering from fever and cold. None of her neighbours came to help the family and the patient eventually died.

These cases indicate that the panic created out the Covid-19 is doing more harm to people than the virus itself. Updated knowledge should be shared with all stakeholders effectively. Personal protective equipments should be made available so that service providers can serve the patients without fear.
