Sundarbans, its tiger in crisis

Bangladesh has been blessed with the world's largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans, which is also famous for the unique Royal Bengal tigers. While a series of cyclones that hit the forest, which shielded the human habitats, there are concerns over the human intervention in the forest, including the presence of various establishments near it.
The forest has recently seen some unusual changes such as reduction in the number of the trees called Sundari, from which Sundarbans derives its name. Of late, a newspaper report, based on research findings, said that the tigers are suffering from food deficiencies. They are being compelled to take fishes and smaller animals other than deer, which is the main food of the tigers. That indicates the deer population is not increasing, rather declining. We cannot turn our back our on the Sundarbans, if only for its role as a safeguard against natural calamities.
