Taiwan speeds up nuclear safety review

TAIPEI, Mar15: Taiwan said Tuesday it was accelerating a safety review of its nuclear installations after last week's earthquake and tsunami severely damaged an ageing plant in nearby Japan. "In the light of what happened in Japan, we must be very meticulous," Hsieh Teh-chih, deputy chief of the Atomic Energy Council, told AFP. "We'll speed up the review." -AFP
