Taxing education

Quo Vadis Bangladesh? Are we so desperate for public funds that we are to add tax on education? While the government should spend money to raise the quality of education in all types of public education institutions, it is thinking of taxing the students in exchange of education and knowledge.
Better idea would be to add an extra 25 to 50.0 per cent for all monetary fines and a corresponding extension of prison time. This could hopefully bring in more revenue and can deter many civil crimes.
By taxing education, we are only discouraging it. I am sure the profits from all private education institutions are being taxed, excluding those that are sponsored and financially supported by various charities or recognized 'holy' orders like schools run by missionaries. However schools or institutions that take fees from the students must be taxed.
