The Tigers experiencing prolonged bad patch

September 26, 2014 00:00:00

The Tigers returned from their West Indies tour empty handed and it is not unexpected. The bad phase of Bangladesh cricket team is not ending and the way the Tigers are playing it does not seem that it will end any time soon.  Sometimes I feel bad about the players and the coach of Bangladesh team as they are facing a barrage of criticism.  Bangladesh has lost all their matches without putting any resistance.  Especially in the Test matches the results become too predictable.

I hope when Shakib Al Hasan joins the team, the team will get the much needed boost. But this should not be an excuse for doing poor result in the West Indies. No team should be dependent on a particular player. Musfiq needs a break from captaincy as he is not getting the team in the right direction. However, ultimately the decision will come from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Bangladesh think-tanks have a lot to think over and those who are consistently showing poor performance should be out of the team no matter how good their past record is. I really hope that the Tigers will be back sooner than later in their winning streak
