Tigers bring high-flying Proteas down

July 14, 2015 00:00:00

Finally the Tigers turned the table around and brought the high-flying Proteas down to earth. I was delighted by the remarkable 7-wicket victory. Hats off to the Tigers who came out of the gloom of recent defeats and won the second ODI to level the series 1-1. Now the third and final ODI will be the series decider. Credit goes to the Bangladeshi bowlers who restricted the South African batsmen to a paltry 162 runs. This victory was very important for the Tigers as they were desperate to maintain their winning streak. Mustafizur, Rubel and Nasir set the stage for the batsmen and they did not disappoint the nation. Soumya Sarker and Mahmudullah played two wonderful innings and took the team to victory safely. South Africa is known as a power in world cricket and that is why chasing their small total was also not easy. In the end, however, hosts had the last laugh. I hope the Tigers will play the third ODI with new energy and confidence. With this win Bangladesh booked their spot in the Champion's Trophy. A series win against South Africa will be a big achievement for the Tigers. The country wishes them good luck for the final ODI and test matches.
