Tigers face India in quarter-finals

March 18, 2015 00:00:00

The Tigers play India in one of the World Cup quarter-finals at Melbourne on March 19. There is a lot of enthusiasm around it in the country. The Indian media are also quite enthusiastic about it. The Tigers are in peak form as their last two matches demonstrated. It may not be impossible for the Tigers to beat India if they play with the same spirit and vigour that they displayed against England and New Zealand.

As Bangladeshis, we look forward to the Tigers to stage a repeat performance of 2007 WC when they beat India and threw them out of the tournament. Bangladesh won by five wickets with 9 balls remaining. Tamim, Mushfiq and Shakib did well with the bat while Mashrafee and Rafique did the same with the ball by taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively restricting the Indians to a paltry 191. The whole nation waits for another historic battle from the Tigers and wishes them to rise to the occasion once again and fulfil our dreams of defeating the illustrious and highly rated Indians once again.
