Tigers in Asian Games cricket
October 05, 2014 00:00:00
The Bangladesh national cricket team has bagged a consolation Bronze medal in the Asian Games cricket although they lost against Sri Lanka in the semi-finals on a toss and it was heartbreaking.
In the third place decider game, Bangladesh beat Hong Kong comfortably, thanks to Shakib and Mahmudullah. Good efforts gave Bangladesh a fighting score of 162 in stipulated 20 overs and Bangladeshi bowlers restricted Hong Kong in 135 and ensured Bronze medal.
The Bangladesh cricket has been searching the favour of lady luck since long but it has been eluding them. Shakib is surely an inspiration for the Bangladesh cricket team and his presence invigorates both the team and fans alike. He played well in the match in which Bangladesh won Bronze against Hong Kong and scored a breezing 47 runs in 37 balls.
Bangladesh will play 3 Tests and 5 one-day matches in November against Zimbabwe and they will play in their own backyard. I hope, the Tigers will turn the table and get some much-needed positive result against Zimbabweans. We hope, the tigers will find their form and end their year with high notes.
