Tigers need to regroup themselves fast
February 15, 2015 00:00:00
The Tigers played their warm-up matches on a wrong note, particularly the one they played against the non-Test playing nation Ireland. It has surely dented the morale of the Tigers badly. In earlier matches, they went down against Pakistan which was understandable, but losing against Ireland is really embarrassing not only for the team but also for its supporters. It seems that our players are yet to acclimatise themselves with the conditions of Australia which is vital for improved performance. I am an optimist, the Tigers will soon overcome the difficulty and turn around. They have a few more days to regroup themselves before their first encounter with Afghanistan and the Tigers should leave their shocking defeat against Ireland behind them and roar back. Many of Bangladeshi supporters expressed their disappointments over the performance of the Tigers in their warm-up matches, but I would like to hold a positive frame of mind. I believe the Tigers will soon get back their rhythm. All they have to do is to concentrate hard on the upcoming game and forget about the results of warm-up matches. There are of course not much to lose as far as our cricketing reputation is concerned, but a lot to gain. I am sure, the Tigers will be able to put up their best performance in the current World Cup Cricket and bring laurels for their country and its millions of fans.
