Towards sustained development

Md. Saifullah Azad | August 01, 2014 00:00:00

Bangladesh is moving fast towards a better position in the fields of economic, social, developmental, governance and other areas. The country's achievements are significantly high, particularly in education and health sectors. In fact, the country has many success stories in terms of social indicators. However, it still has many areas to improve upon and also explore new avenues to bring about positive changes for inclusive and sustainable development. In an era of globalisation, it needs to exchange cross-country technology so that its development frameworks or strategic plans could be integrated for building a dynamic and vibrant society.

To that end, responsibility, framework and implementation strategies need to be adopted with the highest priority. All the great men and women had contributed a lot to the cause of  society and the humanity. They also succeeded in their respective areas due to their involvement, dedication, commitment and above all hard works.

It is possible to bring about positive change in society following the path these great men and women followed and good works they performed for the mankind. Even adaptation of a small idea of those people can bring in a great constructive change for the entire nation.

Bangladesh has a population of 160 million of which more than 60 per cent are below the age of 30. They are keen to learn new skills, want to make a mark, handle multiple hurdles while thinking about solutions looking for an opportunity. That is why the young generation has a huge potential. App development, particularly for mobile-based banking, can be one of the good ideas for changing and uplifting society. Thus, app can be integrated with the societal development keeping the cost issue ahead of everything as the targeted users would be the people in remote areas having very small income than those of developed parts of Bangladesh.

Our mindset, involvement and commitment for the nation may yield fruits with proper utilisation of demographic dividend. The young generation and their various amazing ideas can help accelerate the momentum for sustained socio-economic development leading to welfare of the common people.
