True spirit of Eid!

Eid brings a message of peace and joy. After observing the holy month of Ramadan, we have celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr. But, this year's Eid was not like the others, as the resurgence of Covid-19 has dampened the celebrations.

When Eid approaches, we try to forget all our past miseries and spend joyous days with our near and dear ones. Many of us may have already become tired of getting invitations and rich foods. However, have we ever thought how street children spent this Eid? Low-income groups are living a miserable life with 'lockdown' going on across the country. When managing a square meal is a herculean task, it becomes painful to celebrate. Still, there are many ho waste money and food in various ways, and if they stand by the poor, they can put smile on their faces.

Many families would have been able to spend a better Eid had the authorities concerned and public officials extended a helping hand towards them. However, we must still carry with us the lessons that the holy month of Ramadan teaches us. May Almighty Allah free us all soon from this deadly coronavirus and let's guide ourselves with the spirit of Eid.
