TIKRIT, Iraq, Oct 9 (AFP) : Two suicide truck bombs separately targeting a police chief and a tribal leader involved in the fight against Al-Qaeda killed 12 people Tuesday in Baiji north of Baghdad, police said.
At least 50 people were injured when the trucks, loaded with barrels of gasoline, exploded within minutes of each other about a kilometre (mile) apart at 6 am (0300 GMT), a police official said.
The attacks come a day after a suicide bomber killed 14 people when he exploded his truck at a police post near Samarra, about 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of Baiji, also in Salaheddin province.
