UGC also grants favours

I was taken aback by a newspaper report about irregular appointments and promotions to low and educationally unqualified staff by the UCG. Maybe, these are 'Humanitarian Grants', by the University Grants Commission; or otherwise may be exceptionally qualified and capable candidates but not publicly known.
Considering a 'worst case scenario', they are excellently qualified in the practical application of the "Theory of Relativity" (in family sense). They have the unique gift of managing the right 'relative' at the right time; and at the right place, to secure the job, which is the recognition of their special ability -- one that is usually needed in Bangladesh.
Regarding requisite qualifications for the job, if you have an "Hon. Minister", that is more important than academic qualifications or any other kind of experience. There are many such people holding responsible positions in public offices in Bangladesh and sometimes they are quite expert in diverting funds inwards that many cannot manage. This is the picture of a democratic country we are living in, and where it is said that 'people's power' is the real power.
