UK appoints new anti-terrorism minister

LONDON, May 12 Britain's government says James Brokenshire has been appointed as security minister following the resignation of the country's previous anti-terrorism chief. Pauline Neville-Jones, a House of Lords member and ex-head of the Joint Intelligence Committee of spy agencies, quit Monday. Brokenshire, who was already a minister with Britain's Home Office, said Thursday he hopes to meet "the challenges of my new responsibilities." -AP
