A few days ago I bought some apples from Town Hall Market at Mohammadpur. I asked the vendor to give me a kg of apple at Tk130 per kg as the vendor demanded. The fruit seller told his assistant to weigh a kg of apple. The assistant did so and put the fruits in a bag and told me to pay Tk 160. I was a bit surprised. I asked the vendor why I should pay more. The vendor reasoned that I was given 200gms more and the price comes to Tk160.
However, I saw very clearly that he just gave me a kg apple but demanded Tk 30 more. I refused to pay more and told him that I didn't need extra apples. It was the trick of the fruit vendor to charge extra amount from the buyers in a dishonest way! Moreover they also apply various other tricks, a faulty weighing scale for example, to deceive customers. We should all be very careful while buying fruits.
