Uniform fee structure for English-medium schools

May 01, 2022 00:00:00

It is an open secret that most English-medium schools in Bangladesh charge exorbitant fees from their students. Sometimes, it is too costly for a middle- or upper middle-class family to afford it. There are no rules and regulations for such schools' fee structure. In Dhaka, different schools have different patterns of charging fees. The annual expenditure per student, including the tuition fee, bus fare, books and the school uniform prove too much for the parents and the costs are going higher and higher every year.

We urge the relevant authorities to take action to regulate a uniform fee structure for all English medium schools so that no student feels deprived.
