Unregistered Kindergartens

The issue of unregistered kindergartens was covered by most English dailies on May 17. The kindergartens of the country should come under official inspection.

Registration should not become lengthy process due to bureaucratic red tape. If this happens, the whole matter of young children's education is bound to suffer. Because, as night follows day, the government registration may open up a Pandora's box of corruption and coercion so common in most of our public offices. However, the fees for registration of kindergartens should be kept as low as possible independent of the number of students enrolled.

Hopefully, this will not be a big load for the many big or small schools. It is critically important that there should be no scope for corruption percolating down to villages.
