In recent years, incidents of child rape and sexual abuse in Bangladesh have increased at an alarming rate. Every day, newspapers, television channels and social media report horrific cases of child abuse. In many instances, children are not only abused but also brutally murdered afterward, shaking society to its core.
The impact of such violence is not only physical but also psychologically profound and long-lasting. Many children suffer from severe psychological trauma that disrupts their normal development. Anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, lack of concentration in studies and even suicidal tendencies become common. Alongside these, physical complications, diseases and uncertainty about the future deeply affect their lives.
A climate of fear and anxiety has also spread among parents. Sending children outside, to school or even to relatives' homes has become a source of constant worry. This situation is disrupting children's normal upbringing and weakening social trust. A coordinated effort from families, educational institutions and state authorities is necessary to ensure a safe and secure environment for children.
