Unsafe highways

Highway robberies often take place. It seems the law enforcement agencies are not able to prevent these.  The criminals not only rob the passengers of the bus but they also injure them seriously. Recently a robbery took place on the Dhaka-Jessore highway. The robbers injured ten passengers seriously and many of the injured were elderly people. On many occasions robbers board a bus in the guise of passengers and rob the bus passengers. The transport owners should take pictures of all passengers before they board the bus. This will discourage robbers to rob in guise of passengers as police will be able to trace them out easily if they get a picture of the criminals. I am scared to take a night journey by bus as it is not safe. Many times the highway robbers rob goods-laden trucks and it seriously hampers the business activities. Highway robberies not only take place on the Dhaka-Chittagong or Dhaka-Jessore highways but on other inter-district roads also.    I Hope the government will look into this matter and make the highways safer so that the citizens can move with security and ease.
